Three Kings Day

DSC_0062The 6th January is the day the Feast of the Epiphany is celebrated (the day the three kings arrived in Bethlehem).  In every supermarket or bakery you will see the Three Kings Cake.  It is more of a bun really (filled with either sultanas or chocolate chips) and is in seven portions and reminds me a little of a hot cross bun.  The cake comes with a crown to be worn by the person who becomes King or Queen for the day by finding a small white plastic king inside one of the buns.

DSC_0076Can you see the small slightly chocolatey figurine in the middle of this bun?

DSC_0078King for a day in our house was……. the only ‘king’ that lives here and whom, I am told, has an uncanny knack for picking the right bun.
