Inside job

Yesterday we walked to school with heavy snow flying horizontally at our faces.  No dreamy snowflakes dropping lightly around us.  It wasn’t pleasant.  Today it was wind.

So I am going to show you a few things I love about houses here…..

DSC_0235Doors and windows.  I am used to living in an area where you would not be without flyscreens due to the large amount of wildlife that likes to crawl or fly (or slither) in your windows.  Windows with tracks that get full of grime that everyone hates cleaning.

Let me tell you how much I love the doors and windows here.

DSC_0237Handle down = door closed.

DSC_0238Handle horizontal = door open.

DSC_0240Handle up = door tilts inwards and allows breeze in through the top.  Genius!

This is all well and good in winter when there is not a bug to be seen.  Stay tuned for how we fare in summer!!

DSC_0241Powerpoints.  No on/off switch.  Plug it in and away you go.  And groups of three.

DSC_0243Fridges.  They are almost always built-in.  No more surprises on top or underneath or behind my fridge!!!

DSC_0245Although I imagine the size of them may be too small for some people I know (you know who you are :))
