I have had a few days here when I have felt absolutely homesick beyond belief. When I have craved a familiar face and voice. When I have wanted to buy something and to be able to get in my car and drive to where I know I can get that thing. To chat to the person behind the counter and laugh with the person standing next to me.
Life here is not all travel and excitement. Some days are dull and boring just like they would be at home. There are limits on what we can do because we don’t have a bag of gold in the cupboard and we don’t have an endless amount of time to do everything.
It might be that the sky has been quite grey for the last week and I have been craving sunshine.
But as with all things it passes. And then I walk around our postcard of a town and feel very grateful that I am here.
