Since we have been in Switzerland we have received two invitations by email using ‘Doodle’.  It is basically an online scheduler that allows you to email people with a few different dates for a get together, take a poll, and then work out the one that suits the majority best.  So Swiss.  So efficient.  And so available all over the world.  Why did I not know about this?
