The Swiss Riviera

269It was a rainy Easter long weekend here in Switzerland.  We had absolutely no luck with the weather but a lot of luck with our accommodation.  We got upgraded from a very average 3 star hotel room to a suite in the 5 star hotel across the road.  Very nice.   Coat on, brolley up, and away we go.  The last few days have been hectic so (for now) here is a small taste of what we have been doing…

282We saw Charlie Chaplin in Vevey.

278A giant fork in Lake Geneva.

402Freddie Mercury in Montreux.

386We spent a few hours at Chateau de Chillon.  And then walked back to Montreux along the promenade.  It took us nearly an hour.  It was raining.  We didn’t care because it was so lovely even in the rain.

There was a lot of food consumed.  A bit of wine.  And then we enjoyed the scenery from the comfort of a very comfortable Swiss train from Montreux to Luzern to Zurich and then home to Wil.
